I mentioned not too long ago that we have ventured into a beef project. We are trying to be good stewards of the land God has given us, and decided to try and raise a cow for beef. We sent her off to the butchers not too long ago and just now got the meat back. Wow! It was a lot!!
The first night we decided to have steaks for dinner: Ribeyes! To say my kids were excited is an understatement. They don't get steak very often. In fact, Micah said, "I think this is the first steak that I ate all by myself!"
I have to say, I am super happy how it tasted. I was worried I would have too much city girl in me to be able to eat a cow that we butchered. So for now we are trying to pace ourselves and not have steak every night for dinner! I'm already thinking that Christmas will be the perfect time to have a Porterhouse Steak, though!
Poor Peaches. I think she wanted to try some, too. Don't worry, she has feasted on lots of bones lately!
