Heroes

We all love to go to conferences and jubilees that's other churches have. Especially my kiddos. They love it!

We love the family time in the car ride there. We love getting to hear great singing and preaching, too! 

Silas, Callie and Micah were invited to sing in the choir. They loved it!

And we love running into friends. 💕

 One of the things my kids love to do is to have preachers and missionary sign their Bible. I love that these men of God are their heroes! This time they were able to meet Scotty Drake, what a Godly hero of the faith! They were excited to have him sign their Bible. God is so good to us! 

Making Cheese!

I have had so much fun making things with goat's milk! My favorite is to make lotion. Have you visited my Etsy shop?

But it's also been fun making Cheese! 

I love making a soft farmers cheese. I sometimes simmer the milk with fresh herbs from Micahs garden such as thyme, basil and parsley. Other times I have mixed in Sriracha and Honey, or I've done chocolate and sea salt. My latest creation is Mango Habanero. So delicious!

The process is so easy and simple. 

And then with the leftover whey I use it to boil my rice in. We love that!

Only a few more weeks and then I'll let my does dry up for the summer. For now I have the freezer bursting, creamy, glorious milk!!

 

A trip north

I have an amazing family!  My wonderful aunt, that we lovingly call Mama Michigan, invited me to come and visit her in Michigan.  I enjoy travelling.  I'm a little odd in that I enjoy the layover and the busyness.  I like to rush from one gate to the next and if I get to ride a subway?!  Oh yes!  It's so fun!

Plane snacks are always the best and Biscoff happens to be one of Beth's favorites so I had to send her a pic.  While on the plane I bring my Bible, notebook, a great book to read and my planner.  I usually get a lot done and enjoy just some me time.  This time I was able to share the complete gospel with the gentlemen next to me!  God is so good to answer that prayer!

When I arrived in Detroit it was a super chilly temperature in the 30s!  Wow that's cold for this Florida girl!  We feel like summer has already arrived here!

From the moment my aunt picks me up she spoils me.  I feel like a kid again and get all my favorites.  She even brings me peanut butter fudge that her friend makes.  It's the best!  I may or may not have eaten so many until I felt sick.  When you're a kid again you really don't control how many pieces of fudge you eat! 

My uncle Ron was also able to join us for some adventure!

First stop, Frankenmuth!

We had fun acting silly and looking at all the shops.

We enjoyed family breakfast and I was able to see many of my cousins and great uncles.

We also went to the cemetary where we visited the graves of my Mam-maw and Pap-paw and my aunt Joann and cousin Jimmy.  I have such a goodly heritage and I am thankful for my family!

I was also able to spend some time with my uncle Gary and have ice cream at Culvers.

 Like I said, she spoils me and I become a kid again.  Once again my trip went by too fast, but I had a wonderful time.  Thanks Robin for always being the cool aunt, the fun aunt, and my Mama Michigan!

Growing for the Lord!

I love my church. I know it's really the Lord's church, but you know what I mean. This is the local congregation God has allowed me to be a member of, it's so much a part of my life, so it's just natural to say "my church."

We find a common theme from people that visit VSIBC: friendly and happy. My church really has the joy of the Lord and as someone told me last night, "You just know the Holy Spirit is here!"

A lot of things are happening around here and it's exciting! We've seen several get baptized in our make shift baptistry. One day we will have a building with a beautiful baptistry, but I know we will look back and be thankful for these days! 

We recently went to a ladies meeting. It was so nice to have all my girls together and to room together. There were 21 ladies that came! We spent the day thrift shopping and going for lunch and coffee before checking into our hotel. 

That night we invaded the hotel lobby and played games until way too late. Good memories!

I'm thankful for my church. I'm thankful for all that God is doing there and He lets us be in a part of it. I love my church family!!

 

He's a teenager!

We had such a fun day celebrating this guy! He's 13!!

We wanted to do something fun together. Patrick has the idea of exploring the Osceola National Forest. We had never been there and it's less than an hour from us!

We found fishing spots and swimming holes. 

We had a picnic,

enjoyed the sun,

And spent some great family time together!

Micah even caught a fish!

And he enjoyed some snorkeling. Who knew this gem is so close by us!?!

We had a wonderful time together.

And then it hit me. I only have adults and teenagers now. And all 6 are so amazing!

Micah is my thoughtful, tender hearted guy.  He is always making sure everyone is okay. He loves building and tinkering and science. He loves planes and cars. He loves his family.  But he especially loves Jesus. He's a godly example and is a shining light. We love you Micah!! 

 

Our calling

 I love being "Mrs Preacher" and the flock God has called us to. They are precious. And they are inspiring. 

Patrick and I were out and about in High Springs and ran into Brent. He's truly the happiest man we know and we are blessed to have him at VSIBC! As we were leaving he said, " Preacher, let me pray with you!" That doesn't happen very often. How blessed we are!
