Too Much Traffic

We ran into so much traffic today. First in North Carolina, then in the Washington DC area. We arrived at our hotel around 7 and we were exhausted. So, we decided to order pizza and let Beth have her turn at the dinner game tomorrow night. Tomorrow should be a fun day, we're going to take a detour through Hershey, PA! Yay!

Josh's Pick

For Josh's pick in our restaurant game, he chose Captain's Quarters. We're in Santee, South Carolina. It was very delicious. I had Shrimp and Grits. I've never had it before and I really don't like grits, but I've seen several things on the food channel about Shrimp and Grits, so I decided to try it...I LOVED it!!! I should have taken a picture of my dish! The grits were so creamy, almost like mashed potatoes. The shrimp each had a piece of bacon wrapped around it before it was grilled. The girls both had spaghetti and meatballs, and Patrick and Josh had Mahi-Mahi. The salad was really good. It had pecans, bleu cheese and balsamic vinegrette. We decided we would secretly vote and place our votes in the envelopes, so I can't tell you the score yet. We also changed it up a bit. We're voting on a scale of 1 to 5 for food, atmosphere, and service. So, there are three seperate votes and then we'll add up the scores. We had a great time and I love trying new places to eat. We'll see what Beth picks tomorrow night!

Three Dinners of Fun

My parents are so creative. They wanted my children to have some excitement and something to look forward to on the way to Canada, so they came up with a game. They each got an envelope with $50 in it for dinner one night. Josh is first, he picks the place then pays with the money. Beth is next night, then Brenna. The change is saved for ice cream at the end. Each night after we eat we all vote on a scale of 1 to 5 according to how well we like the place that person picked. Then, we add up the scores. Whoever has the highest votes at the end of 3 nights gets $20! This should be a lot of fun. I'll try to post everynight where we go and the number of votes!! Thanks, Mom and Dad!

Almost done packing....

My Four

God has blessed us with 4 wonderful children that bring me joy everyday. I'm so thankful for them and the way they make life so fun!
Joshua-First Born-Almost 13 Josh is loving going to youth activities. I can't believe my baby can go to those! Last night they went on a putt-putt outing and he loved it. Joshua loves to play any kind of game, whether it's a board game, card game, or computer game.

Elisabeth, 11, oldest daughter. My Beth is turning into a little lady. She's growing up. We had so much fun Easter dress shopping. She wanted a dress that was a little more grown up than what she's gotten in the past. I'm very particular about her not dressing too old, so we had to really search for her dress. But, she's like me and loves to shop. We found a cute sundress type dress at Target and found a cute lightweight 3/4 length sleeve sweater to go over it.

Brenna. 2nd daughter. number 3 in the line up. Brenna was able to go to a cooking class ( or something like that) with her Aunt Tabitha today. She had so much fun with her cousins and sampled some healthy food. She actually didn't care for some of the food....they shouldn't have told her it was healthy! :)

Silas Boone. 3 1/2 months. Baby of our family. Silas is outgrowing his newborn sleepers....boo hoo! He's really starting to grow and get long. I had to box up some of his newborn clothes this week.
