It's not as hard as we think

I really do have some wonderful friends and family.  They are an inspiration to me.  The things they do for me to show me their love and encouragement brighten my day.  It reminds me that to love on someone and spread some cheer doesn't take hours upon hours or lots of money.  It takes thought and a little bit of time.  That happened to me this week.  I had three sweet people shower me with some goodies.  I want to share it with you, because I know it can be an encouragement for you to do the same with people the Lord has put in your path.

The first came in the form of a journal.  Anyone else have a love for journals like me?  The front of it has the verse, Isaiah 43:1, "I have called thee by thy name; thou are mine." And inside on every page is a Bible verse personalized.  It has my name on it!  How cool!

Then, I had my sweet mother in law drop off a bag of candy corn.  I love that stuff!  And it's also a sweet reminder to tell me that Fall is on the way....my favorite season!

Then, another sweet friend dropped off the hugest pan of lasagna.  It was bigger than a double 9 x 13...huge!  It was so wonderful and filled our family up for sure!  She timed it just right and brought it on one of my infusion days since I tend to be quite sleepy.

So thankful for thoughtful, inspiring friends that remind me it's really not as I hard as we think to be a blessing.  Just a little thought, a little time and you can brighten someone's day today!

  1. It's sweet that you have loving friends. You are right it doesn't take big things to encourage someone else. But it does take some generosity of spirit and heart. I'm glad there are those in the world that demonstrate these qualities. I do love journals and I haven't seen one where you can personalize a person's name. That is really cool. I haven't seen corn candy for years but Fall is my favourite season too.

  4. Journals are something I think about but never do because I have terrible handwriting and don't want anyone to read what I have written when I'm gone. My Mom and two sisters were successful with journals, but not me.

I just started rereading your blog and am wondering why I stopped. We have totally different lives but I am still encouraged when reading your blog.

Blessings to you and your family!
