Hymn for May~'Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

Did anyone else wake up today and sort of have that "Happy New Year!" feeling?  I know, I know, it's May 1st....far away from January 1st.  But today I woke up and felt a change.  I feel like things are winding up with our quarantine, social distancing time.  There is a feeling in our community of people ready to get back to living.  The risks have been weighed, and people are ready to reopen our city, our state, and our country.  Plans are in the works for our church doors to be opened once again. Hallelujah!  As my husband put it, "It's just time."  Yes, it is.  We are ready!

But, wait....is there still a corona virus to be concerned about?  Yes.  Isn't there still a threat to our health?  Yes.  Is there still a possibility of facing this or any other number of health crisis?  Yes.  So, how do we approach the coming days?  Trusting in Jesus.  And it's with this thought that I chose our hymn for the month of May.
'Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus
because it truly is.

This situation is still out of our control.  We should be wise and do things circumspectly with the knowledge of what is going on around us.  But, our life it truly in the Lord's hands.

This morning I read Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
We are loved, that's for sure.  And it's with this knowledge of God's love for us that we can approach the days ahead trusting completely in Him!

You can find the playlist for this month's hymn here.

So, I sure am ready for a wonderful month!  Hip Hip Hooray for May!

  1. Yes, I woke up May 1st and went to the grocers as well as the post office. I could tell the moment I was on the street that people are itching to get out and about. Our restrictions are in place until middle of May and then they will only be lifted very cautiously in my province. At least that is the current thinking and information being communicated. No larger gatherings, no back to school, no parties, no weddings, no church. But I am trusting in Jesus and keeping myself (and others safe) by social distancing. I have a lot to keep me occupied and God is with me/us. Hugs and safety to you and all your loved ones and families.
