3 Preacher Boys

My Micah is a pretty cool kid.  He likes lots of neat stuff like dirt bikes, cars, trucks, fixing things and working alongside his Daddy.  If it involves tools, he's there.  When Patrick and I would talk about what Micah would do when he grew up, we always pictured him building something or fixing something.

About a year ago he came and talked to us about being a preacher. He said he just didn't know if that's what he was supposed to do.  We encouraged him, as we did Josh and Silas, that the most important thing is to do what God wants him to do.  It may be a preacher, or it may not.  God's Will is always the best!

Then, about a month ago he came to us in tears saying he was so scared.  Patrick and I talked to him about it and he said he was so afraid that God wouldn't want to call him to preach.  He told us he wants to preach so bad and he wants God to call him.  He then started asking us, "How do you know?"  Patrick and I glanced at each other and knew.  Patrick talked to him about desire. Titus 3:1 says, "This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work."

After praying with him and talking some more, Micah told us that he believes God is calling him to be a preacher.  What an exciting night!

So, what should a preacher do?  Preach!  Patrick decided to put Josh, Silas, and Micah on the calendar to preach our midweek service before Thanksgiving.  Patrick helped Micah with his outline.  Silas gave him some tips, and then Silas and Micah preached their messages to each other....over and over and over.  They were ready!

To say this made me proud is an understatement.  So exciting!

Silas was up first.  Notice he didn't even need a step stool this time!?  He's getting so tall!

Then, it was Josh's turn.  What an amazing preacher he has become!  He's a godly man and I'm so thankful for him!

Then, Micah was up.  He did amazing!!

After the service Micah asked his Daddy that if he came up with another message could he preach again?  Sure!  So proud of my boys!

Not sure if this link will work, but VSIBC has livestreaming and you can find those messages here.
